Benedictine Abbey Neresheim
Neresheim Abbey is a cultural monument of European rank. The history and quality of its buildings make the Benedictine Abbey of Neresheim a unique destination.
The abbey was founded in 1095. Between 1694 and 1792, the entire building ensemble was renovated in the Baroque style. Balthasar Neumann provided the designs for the abbey church.
The monastery maintains a conference and guest house and offers retreats and courses.
The monastery museum in the convent building presents the history of the abbey. As part of a guided tour of the monastery museum, both the Michaelihaal and the banqueting hall, magnificently decorated by Dominikus Zimmermann, can be visited.
The Neresheim Abbey Boys' Choir sings regularly at services in the Neresheim Abbey Church and at independent performances.
